Both 3 gallon Food Waste bags and Tall 13 gallon Food Waste bags (formerly Tall Kitchen Bags) now have a star sealed bottom. These new star sealed bags are gathered at the bottom for extra strength.

BioBag food waste bags are primarily used for the collection of food scraps and other compostable waste for home or community composting.

Our popular BioBag 3 gallon size is designed to fit most kitchen countertop composting pails. Using BioBags takes the mess out of the messiest job, cleaning out the bucket! Our 3 gallon food waste bags are also great for refrigerated food storage. One feature of the BioBag is that it “breathes” without leaking. This unique benefit allows heat and moisture to evaporate, which keeps food “fresher” longer. Try BioBags for storing your fruits and vegetables. Store your vegetables to maintain freshness, and then use the same bag to line your composting pail. We call it “use and use again”. In addition to disposal in a municipal composting site, BioBag 3 gallon food waste bags are also certified by OK Compost (European) for disposal in home backyard compost settings. The certification process tests a product’s ability to decompose at a rate similar to other compostable items placed in the same setting. Unfortunately, we in the United States, have yet to establish the “compostability” of ASTM D6400 certified bags in settings other than municipal composting operations. Therefore, BioBag relies on this European home composting certification. We are proud to have earned this OK Compost distinction from VINCOTTE and, more importantly, assure our home composting users that this BioBag product will do what it is supposed to do!

BioBag Tall 13 gallon Food Waste bags (formerly Tall Kitchen Bags) are sized equivalent to regular plastic bags and fit most kitchen waste cans. This sturdy bag is perfect for collecting food waste, paper and other compostable packaging items. Our compostable Tall 13 gallon Food Waste bags are also great for collecting outdoor waste from small gardening areas. Most communities have designated days for yard and compostable waste pick-up. BioBags will not decompose until they are introduced to the earth’s elements or micro-organisms in the soil. Extended heat can make the BioBags feel soft and may eventually cause splitting.

The Do’s & Don’ts

Do:
• For best results, use BioBags within 12 months of purchase
• Store in a dry, cool area
• Separate BioBag carefully along perforation. Force may cause the bag to rip
• Replace your BioBag every couple of days if exposed to organic matter
• Line Your Tall Kitchen trash can with newspaper or paper towels if trash contents tend to be moist
• Use Food Waste bags for food storage
• Support and encourage composting in your area
• Tell a friend about BioBag

Don’t:
• Put hot liquids inside bag
