Our goal is to help divert all naturally organic waste from entering our landfills. This includes food waste, yard waste, paper waste and pet waste.

BioBag® Pet Waste Bags come in standard size, large size, on a roll, and with handles for easy portability. They are a great alternative to regular polyethylene plastic bags. BioBag Pet Waste Bags are made from a resin (Mater-Bi®) derived from plants, vegetable oils and compostable polymers. Mater-Bi® is sourced from Italy.

When BioBag Dog & Pet Waste Bags were created a few decades ago, the products were black. Last year, however, we changed the bags to the color green to help recycle the waste from our food scrap bags. After the change, we got some feedback from our customers, and they enthusiastically told us they really prefer the original, black color.

Most of our BioBag products are made at the factory in California, but fortunately, we have been able to source black dog bags from our international factory in Estonia and provide one of our most popular products in the way our customers prefer without giving up on our goal of using recycled factory waste to create the bags!

The exception to the change back to black is our eCommerce dog bags with handles. Those will remain green going forward because we are unable to source those elsewhere at this time. The dog bags with handles will continue to be made in California and are a great alternative to the black dog bags for those who wish to purchase US-made products.

BioBags can be readily composted along with organic waste in municipal composting facilities. BioBag products meet the ASTM D6400 standard specification for the labeling of plastics designed to be aerobically composted in municipal or industrial facilities. Please check to make sure facilities are available in your community. Visit www.findacomposter.com.

While pet waste is not readily accepted at most compost facilities around the country, there are now a number of communities and parks successfully composting their dog waste and using BioBags as the method of collection. The future looks very bright for all waste separation initiatives. We are proud to play a part.

Be sure to do your research about home dog waste composting before adding any dog waste to your backyard compost piles.
