UmiMax Food Scrap Collection Buckets
|
It starts in the kitchen…
Approximately 30% of landfill waste is organic matter. By collecting and composting food scraps from your kitchen and your community, you can reduce greenhouse gases and create nutrient rich top soil amendments.
Kitchen food scraps can build up bacterial odor quickly when collected in a solid plastic, metal or ceramic pail. The reason is, food waste creates heat and moisture that cannot escape when placed in these closed containers. Many modern collection pails contain charcoal filters or other devices to help mask the odor, but do little to slow the “rotting process.”
The UmiMax buckets are made from 97% post consumer plastic and ventilated on all sides, including the top. When paired with breathable BioBags, the moisture in food waste evaporates which minimizes odors, mold and mildew. The buckets are black, sturdy and come with an easy-to-carry handle that locks the lid tight. Recommended to be used with BioBag Small 3 Gallon Food Waste Bags.
BioBags breathe naturally, allowing moisture to escape or evaporate. This process allows food waste to dry, thus reducing the rate of bacterial build-up, which causes odor. When BioBags are used with the UmiMax Bucket, you’ll have the ultimate system for food waste collection.
